Stay Organized at Home: Home Command Station

As I am staying home amid COVID-19, I am getting time to not only spend with family but also deep clean, organize, work from home, create and share via my blog. For years my family has used this Home Management System that I created and keep in our kitchen on the counter. It has tons of valuable information it in from things like our wish lists, Wifi access information for guests, emergency call numbers, coupons and much more. The sections that we use most is our family calendar and appointment tab. Any time someone has an appointment, we make note of it on the calendar (which stays open on the counter) and if we were given any special instructions etc., those document would go inside of the binder under the red “appointment” tab. With our busy lives and as much as we communicate, we tend to forget to remind each other about upcoming appointments etc.

I was inspired to create this Home Command Station by watching several YouTube videos.

Home Command Station

This binder has birthdays, Wifi information for guests, postage stamps as well as return address labels and our emergency contact information. I placed the cute binder clips in the back to store extra keys to our office-site storage, P.O Box etc.
This is our family calendar that we include any type of appointments and or events on. It stays open on the counter. It’s harder to get my husband to use it as he should so I try to make sure I ask him about appointments etc., often.
This book was created primarily for our family meeting notes/to do list’s, any type wish list which includes items we want for our birthday, Valentine’s etc., restaurants to try as well as a place to note future travel destinations. I’m huge on gift giving and I use the wish list throughout the year however others tend to use it as their special day approaches.
This binder has various lists I created. We shop by the grocery list, which we fill out during the week, take to the store and try to purchase only those things from the list. I also created the message notes primarily to be used for example, if the lawn care guy etc. asks me to give my husband a message. We use the UGA (Georgia) thank you cards to leave money etc. outside for services if we are not home.
Planner pages helps us to stay organized
This page helps me and hubby to plan ahead for shopping as we plan our meals for the week. We primarily plan for dinner and breakfast.
The freezer inventory helps us stay organized as it relates to meats. I update before we go shopping. Some use it to track what is in the freezer and cross out what they used.
The pantry inventory is used the same way. I update it sometimes before going shopping. I hate when I buy duplicates of things I already have like ketchup. Both of these forms work in conjunction with my grocery list.
This is a page that I created and don’t really use as much because meal planning for the week works out just fine.
This zip pouch is where my husband put coupons that come in the mail or ones he get and want to share them with my daughter and I.
These are just some miscellaneous items that I also keep in the station. That is loose note pad pages clipped together, pens and a mini notebook that houses business cards. Most of the cards we keep in there are in-home caterers, services that people primarily provide for our home as well as medical cards.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how we operate our home by using my DIY home command station. Please share how you and your family stay organized in your home. Stay safe and healthy.

Baking Pantry Refresh after renovations

Hi there! If you follow me you will notice that I have a new pantry which used to be my laundry room as well as a baking cart and now my old pantry is currently a baking pantry. All for someone who doesn’t do much cooking or baking however when I do I thoroughly enjoy it.

I also enjoy decorating/refreshing my home from time to time. Feel free to ask any questions and share your thoughts.

This is a full view of the space. I recently purchased the oxo containers for $6.99/3. I really don’t have use for them now however at that price I wasn’t going to pass them up so I bought two.
The top shelf contains my KitchenAid mixer bowl cover, a large adjustable rolling pin, cupcake decorations, clear to go containers and my travel cupcake container.
The bins on the left are made by idesign and are labeled. The bins have decorating bags, flavoring, gloves, candy apple sticks, icing, and gels/food coloring in them.
The clear plastic bins to the right are also labeled to hold chocolate molds and to go to containers for pie and cake slices.
The green storage bin to the left contains all of my cookie cutters.
I also have a spare egg holder. My coffee cup holder is labeled and is made by iDesign. I purchased the turntable from Home Goods which makes it convenient to store disposable cups which we use daily.
The basket on the bottom shelf contains all items to cut fruit in shapes etc. Next to it is my Panini grill and crockpot.
On the floor is where I store spare paper towels as well as my baking pans.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I have my baking pantry organized however feel free to go back through my blog to view my pantry and my refreshed baking cart. Or click the link.

DIY with God..A Place for Prayer in my home

Hello beautiful people! If you follow, Creating the Life I Love…Together on Facebook as well as my blog, you will notice I recently shared with you, that I wanted to create a prayer space within my home. I had to pray about it because I knew I didn’t have a spare close that I could convert into something like this which is what most use.

After I prayed, later that day God revealed the location, which was in my guest room. Initially this cabinet was used for guest towels, toiletries and linen and used very little. Now when guests visit, they can utilize A Place For Prayer or it will be out of their way tucked away inside the cabinet. The inspiration came from watching a few different YouTube channels, which I enjoy doing.

It wasn’t hard to create the space due to me having mostly everything already just in different places. I actually received the vision/blueprint on Friday and was finished with the space on Sunday 10/6/19.

Original cabinet which housed supplies for my guest room.
These journals were either gifted to me or from my home library.
Books, journals, and bibles from my home library. I recently purchased two journals and planner.
This was October 6, 2019, my first night in a place for prayer in my home. I didn’t want a bulky chair in the space because I have my guest bed directly behind me. This stool fits just perfect. As I read the days devotional, it led me to pray for family. It was so profound. Of course it had me in tears. The scripture came from Psalms 105 1-3.
I attempted to find the stick up lighting to go under each shelf however I wasn’t able to so I used candles and it was just perfect. I wanted a more tranquil setting so I added a touch of turquoise which is my favorite color and reminds me of a calm place. This night I did use my phone only to play relaxation sounds. The ambience was awesome and God truly filled the space.
After the first night, I added a Bluetooth speaker and an old iPhone for WiFi which gives me access to YouTube to play relaxation sounds.
This eliminates me from having my so phone in the space to disturb me.
The box to the left has bibles in it with my scripture box on top of it. The plastic container in the middle has inspirational stickers in it and the boxes on the right have journals and divine help books.
Supplies section comprised of sticky notes, highlighters, pencils, markers, coloring pencils and pens.
This inspiration came from one that I follow on YouTube. I placed labels on my highlights which helps with highlighting in my bible or in my journal. I just need to train my brain what each color represents when I see it.
I updated the space with this prayer box I purchased from Marshall’s.

A Place for Prayer DIY..Spiritual War Room

As I continue my spiritual journey, I was inspired to create a place to pray in my home. I enjoy reading books and then sharing/gifting them to others; however, these are some that I’ve kept over the years, I guess for this time. In the movie, War Room, the women had prayer closets. I am asking God to help guide me in determining my Place to Pray space because I don’t have space to make an entire closet a prayer area. Stay tuned….

self-help books, bibles, cards, daily devotionals and journals that will go into my Place for Pray.
Other journals I’v had as well as those gifted to me.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness. Thank You for the power in Your Word to change my world. I choose to get into agreement with You and declare that I am blessed! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

Appointed for Divine Favor..Rain is coming!

This year will be a year to remember. I’ve had to face and make some key decisions. When things in my life get challenging, I tend to lean on Jesus even more. A few weeks ago, the choices I had to make was evident and I knew I had to do something. I weighed out my decisions and the outcomes; however, it just didn’t seem like they were in my favor. I had a spiritual warfare going on in my mind, and when that happens, I have sleepless nights and tired days. One morning, I woke up and it was like God had planted the pathway and laid it out for me. I scared me a little. I knew it was God speaking to me.

A few weeks prior, I had heard something on television or read something that said, it is okay to ask God for a financial blessing. I just never thought to do that. I always figured, if I work hard enough and do good by people, those things will come. I began to pray as I walked around my home, one thing came to mind is that I didn’t want a financial blessing due to death/insurance policy. This all tied in with the decisions I knew I would face within the next few weeks.

A week had passed, and I got this tug on my spirit again as though the decision was not final. So, I went against God’s word and decided I was going to go back and do it my way. But little did I know, He too had a plan, the final plan. I was going down a path against what my heart was feeling and the word. I was suddenly stopped in my tracks due to another restless night where a vision was laid out for me again. I shared it with loved ones around me and didn’t see how it could work but traveled down that path for a moment. I feel it was God’s way of showing me other options contrary to the initial plan and path because He knew I was going to wonder what would happen if I had done that versus going along with the plan He had already laid out for me. That journey didn’t last long. I am thankful He put the right people in my life to shed light on the alternate plan, but time was passing me by, and a final decision had to be made. From that moment, I went with the plan He originally gave me. This was through much prayer, restless nights and asking God to lead me. The vision was clear, and I knew it came from Him. I shared it with my husband who was very comfortable with the decision and it was like a heavy burden was lifted from my heart. During the entire process I had my children in mind. The scripture says, “A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22); however, He already knew I had them in my heart.

I am thanking God for his favor and excited about what is to come. As I read Joel Osteen’s daily devotional today, he says, you’ll have a spring in your step as you think about what blessing is coming next. It could be today. It could be tomorrow. It could be next week. Keep expecting. Keep believing. Stay focused on the fact that God has already released into your future everything you need to fulfill your destiny. Start declaring seasons of increase over your life. Declare that favor is on you and look for those appointments of divine favor! AND I RECEIVE IT!

I hope you have enjoyed my spiritual journey. Although it has been tough these last few weeks, but I thank God for His Divine Favor that rests upon my life.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Father, thank You for prearranging a good life for me. Thank You for ordering my steps and directing my path. Help me to understand Your goodness more so that I can know You and stay close to You all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen.

It’s finished! Newly refreshed baking cart

I just finished refreshing my baking cart… and here it is!

I just love my baking cart! I don’t get to bake much however when I do, I’m ready!
I was looking for a cover for my KitchenAid mixer however my BFF surprised me and made this one.
My baking station is not new to my pantry. Shortly after the construction of my pantry earlier this year,
I was inspired to create my own cart.
After researching Pinterest and YouTube, I wanted to refresh my cart .
The almond rolling cart came from Michaels
OMG I just love my eggs tray which is actually an ice tray 😉
The cart topper also came from Michaels. It was 19.99 however I used a 60% off coupon.
Scroll down to see what I have stored in it!
I made my own custom labels. They match the labels in the pantry as well as in my baking pantry which I will share my baking pantry later.
I primarily use granulated sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar and flour and I have all the compartments for those. The flour container is under the plastic measuring cup.
The granulated and brown sugar containers are oxo and purchased from Home Goods.
I purchased the powdered sugar shaker and plastic measuring cup both from Williams Sonoma.
The jar I used for my decorating tips is from Home Goods and cupcake liner jar is from Bealls. It does have a black label which you can write on it using chalk however I decided to make my own label.
This extra large stackable box was definitely a must have! It’s from the Container Store and my husband looked at me like I was crazy when I paid $30 for it. It is large enough to hold all of my mixer attachments as well as my hand mixer. I placed a drawer liner in the cart to keep the box from sliding.
O so cool!!! all of my utensils needed for baking…all in one place.
Here is what I have stored under the cart lid.
I had these plastic bead containers that I used for another project and had some left over.
I was inspired to use them to hold candles.
This is the pantry door. Hubby wants to replace it soon.

I hope you enjoyed my baking cart! Share yours, ask questions and share feedback. Follow me on social media.

This is the cart I created when we finished our pantry almost 6 months ago. I searched YouTube and Google to find inspiration and I love it however it’s time for refresh after I recently found additional YouTube videos and gained new ideas. The cart is from Michael’s. I used a 60% off coupon and paid about $25 for it including tax. I will share everything else once my car is complete. However if you have any questions feel free to ask and share your thoughts with me.

Fall refrigerator decor ideas

I wanted to add that special touch to the top of my refrigerator on a budget and I came up with this idea. I absolutely love i! It blends well with our kitchen colors and theme.

Share your thoughts and comments and don’t forget to follow me to stay up to date with cool decorating ideas as well as other fun stuff!

Initially I placed all the items inside of the basket on top of the refrigerator but I couldn’t see a few of the items so I turned the basket upside down and just placed the items on top of it.
I purchased the basket from Ross.

I purchased the spiritual saying mug, copper pumpkin and white pumpkin spice candle from Home Goods. The thankful sign actually came from Dollar Tree. It has the Buffalo check on the sides. The white Fall can with the pumpkin inside of it and the water mill candle holder both came from Dollar General. I removed the orange pumpkins they were in the can and replace it with a white pumpkin. The two tier stand came from Hobby Lobby.
I’m have never been a fan of magnets on my refrigerator however I love these and will add more. They are all from Hobby Lobby except for hubby Bulldog magnet ❤️🖤. Some I purchased and some family members gifted me.

New! Blog Post

Ideas on Fall Dining Room Tablescape

aaah started setting my dining room tablescape for Fall! As I mentioned in my last blog post, I’m not planning to do much redecorating for Fall due to several major projects. I’m only focusing on 3 areas, my front porch, entryway and dining room.

I had done some research via Pinterest and Google to get some ideas as well as have been spending time in Pier 1.

Feel free to comment or ask questions.

I started with a clean slate. I removed everything from the table which was my summer decor, cleaned and polished and placed those items in the kitchen to be washed.
Everything from my summer tablescape washed and ready to be stored.

These were my first runs/ideas which I was not feeling at all. My colors are copper, blue, sage green and khaki/ivory.

I created a faux menu which coordinates with my colors. I saw the idea on Pinterest however for a wedding. We are in the process of building a sunroom on the back of our home and plan to have breakfast out there on Saturday mornings.
This to me was the worse of the two.
The final look and I absolutely love it!!! This is the head table place setting on each end.
I scored those copper napkin rings from a thrift store. They originally came from Z Gallerie. There was also two other different sets/styles included in the bag all for $6.95.
Side table place setting.
Side view. The centerpiece idea is an original. I had the cake stand and wanted to use it for Fall. I’m still trying to find out what to put in it.
Ariel view of the room.
